Sustainability

Description

Zenith Records strives to minimise its Carbon Footprint in all aspects of its operation and strives to establish itself in initiating new benchmarks of energy savings and input minimisations specific to Vinyl Record manufacturing.

Not only do we adopt best practice energy saving processes within our plant (closed loop water reticulation / steam condensate being returned to our boiler / recycled trimmings re-introduced to black mixes) we also carry out the following:

  • Source all our print locally (within 20 KM of our plant)
  • Make our own paper inner sleeves with sustainably forested FSB Australian paper
  • Work closely with printing houses that are FSC certified. Learn more about FSC Certifications here.
  • Carry out all print gluing and finishing in-house
  • Carry out all cutting and plating in-house without the ongoing need for weekly or bi weekly international shipping of lacquers and plates
  • Source only what is absolutely necessary from offshore suppliers
  • Source all our energy inputs via Green Energy plans
  • Have recently installed and commissioned a new Steam Boiler with a range of efficiency and energy saving options, creating an average of 30% less energy input and better efficiency
  • Our steam condensate is fed directly back into our boiler feedwater tank, requiring very little additional heating and water replenishmnent
  • We have developed our own tooling spare parts engineering division, where innovated tooling for record pressing is used on our presses with significant improvements to cycle times – this in turn minimises energy outputs
  • Have an active campaign offer for 90% recycled mixed colour vinyl records, which presently represents 30% of the orders we carry out (see fact sheet and colour samples below)

Regranulated mixed colours

Note: The above photos are examples of previous regranulated mixes and are not an accurate descriptor of what is available at any given time.
Regranulated mixes are based on what opaque coloured vinyl we have most recently pressed, and so our mixes change frequently.
Please get in touch with our team to learn more about what mixes we currently have to offer you for your next project.
