How much audio can a 7-inch record hold per side?
A 7-inch record generally holds up to about 5 minutes per side at 45 RPM or around 7 minutes per side at 33⅓ RPM. The final playing time depends on the music and how the record is cut. If you are unsure, select “Unsure” in the RPM section of the quote form and our cutting engineers can advise you.
What is the difference between a pocket sleeve and a foldover sleeve?
A pocket sleeve is a forme-cut and glued cover similar to a miniature 12-inch record jacket. A foldover sleeve is a single printed piece of card that is creased in the middle, folded around the record and supplied inside a protective poly bag.
Does a pocket sleeve cost more than a foldover sleeve?
Yes. Pocket sleeves require additional cutting, folding and gluing, so they cost more to produce. A foldover sleeve is a more affordable option that can still provide a professional presentation for a 7-inch release.
What options are available if I do not have artwork?
You can order blank labels and covers. Blank labels are available in black or white, and white foldover covers are also available. Pocket sleeves can be supplied in white, black or brown kraft, with or without a centre hole. Include your preferred option when requesting a quote.
What is the difference between a small centre hole and a large jukebox hole?
A small centre hole is the standard option and fits a regular turntable spindle. A large centre hole, also known as a jukebox hole, is a traditional 7-inch format designed for jukeboxes. It may require an adaptor on a standard turntable and incurs an additional production fee.
Do you offer recycled vinyl colours for 7-inch records?
Yes, recycled vinyl options are available depending on current PVC stock. Colours and patterns can vary between production runs, so availability should be confirmed when requesting a quote. You can view examples on our coloured vinyl page.
